Thai Cabinet approves revision of 60-day visa exemption scheme

Foreign visitors from 93 countries and territories are advised to monitor official updates as revised entry conditions will take effect 15 days after publication in the Royal Gazette. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) advises foreign visitors that Thailand’s Cabinet has approved the revision of the 60-day visa exemption scheme, which has been in place since July 2024. The revised entry conditions will apply 15 days after publication in the Royal Gazette.

The annual Bun Luang Festival and Phi Ta Khon Masked Dance, Dan Sai District

The Phi Ta Khon Festival, also known as the “Ghost Festival,” is one of Thailand’s most unique and colourful cultural celebrations held annually in Dan Sai. The festival features lively parades, traditional music, and locals wearing handmade ghost masks and vibrant costumes inspired by local folklore and Buddhist beliefs.

The festival will attract visitors from around the world who come to experience its energetic atmosphere, creative mask designs, and rich Isan cultural traditions from June 20 to 22, 2026.

Venue: At the area in front of the Dan Sai District Office, on Phra Kaeo Asa Road, and at Wat Phon Chai, Dan Sai District, Loei Province
