- Processions of the royal trophy, lanterns, and Krathong cups. Processions of Krathong Sai and folk art and cultural performances from the communities. 18 November, 2018. From the Shrine of King Taksin the Great to Rim Sai Than Lan Krathong Sai, at the foot of the Somphot Krung Rattanakosin 200 Pi Bridge. 17.00 Hrs. onwards.
- Opening ceremony of the Loi Krathong Sai Festival 2018. Release of Krathong Sai – 1000 coconut-shell lanterns in line on the river.

LOI KRATHONG FESTIVAL, SAMUT SONGKHRAM

Loi Krathong Kap Kluai of Samut Songkhram adds a new perspective to Thai tourism.
This event will promote a tourism linkage from major to minor cities. It presents the
local festival with identity, depicts the lifestyle of the riverside communities, living on
their beliefs, and environmental protection.
Schedule: 22-23 November, 2018.
22 November, 2018, 15.00- 24.00 Hrs. at Wat Phummarin Kudi Thong, Samut Songkhram.
23 November, 2018, 15.00- 22.00 Hrs. at Wat Phummarin Kudi Thong, Samut Songkhram.
Activities:
- Float the Krathong Kap Kluai (banana stem cups) on the Mae Klong River.
- Culinary demonstration.
- DIY: Krathong Kap Kluai.
- Contemporary and cultural performances.
- Stalls of goods and food.
- Make joss sticks and release Krathong Kap Kluai.
- Processions of the dancers to welcome the Royal Lantern Float, Nang Nopphamat
(beautiful women), and Krathong cups, go along the route via the Mae Klong Market
to end at Wat Phummarin Kudi Thong, Amphoe Amphawa, Samut Songkhram.
- Release of 12 illuminated boats on the Mae Klong River.
- Nang Nopphamat (mother-daughter) contest.
- Stage performances.
- Local games played along the river banks and Ram Wong folk dance contest.
- Setting afloat more then 400,000 Krathongs kab Kluai.
